January Events 2015-2017: St. Cloud Toyota Chili Cook off and Indoor Used Car Sale

Before I started at St. Cloud Toyota, each year the Used Car Manager hosted an indoor used car event in January. As the turnout started to dwindle, I was charged with the task of developing a new draw to the event. Knowing that chili is a Minnesota staple when the temperature falls below 30 degrees, I developed an idea to hold a chili cook off during the sale. The dealership held a remote with a local radio station and everyone who came in could try chili submitted by employees and vote for their favorite. Each year we saw an increase in attendance, car sales, and chili submissions. My last year at St. Cloud Toyota, we happily welcomed 35 crock pots and over 200 people to the event.
